Let me tell you, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited the BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited) production center in Bangalore on Friday where he inaugurated the country's first indigenously developed driverless metro car.

 Rajnath Singh said that the public sector undertakings have contributed significantly to the socio-economic progress in India after independence. Be it capital formation, employment opportunities or encouraging R&D, PSUs have played an important role in all areas. "As part of the self-reliant India campaign, the government has recently made some policy changes which you are familiar with, including the Defense Production and Export Promotion Policy (DPEPP) and the creation of a new defense acquisition process (DAP)," he said.
