.The Meg.
Hey, welcome back and good morning to all the viewers and Today we're going to discuss The biggest shark species ever existed, Do you know this human nature, we deny so much thing until we get some written or visible proof, earlier mankind denied the existence of such species but when the first specimen of this creature's mouth was recovered in early years of the 1600s, then the mankind felt the ground slipping under their's feet.
At first, the researchers and common people thought that these teeth belong to some dragons or monsters which was currently unknown at that time.
Then this interpretation was corrected in 1667 by Danish naturalist Nicolas Steno, who recognized and said that it was a shark tooth and then it was meant conceptually in everyone's mind that shark usually has such tooth.
Then it was named Megalodon actually completely Carcharodon megalodon.

Moving On:-
See, earlier megalodon was thought to be very close with present-day predator White Shark whose scientific name is Carcharodon carcharias. But they both are very different except Serration which is the only common trait in them, except it none of them share a huge common in between them.
Still, many people belong that Megalodon Sharks are the parent line of Great White Sharks, but they are found more close to Mako Shark whose scientific name is Isurus oxyrhynchus.
Megalodons lived 23 to 3.5-3.6 million years ago, they are nearly 3-4 times greater than present-day Great white sharks.
Well, to use a more systematic term called elasmobranchs which include groups of fishes such as shark, rays, and skates.
And, like most of the sharks out there, Megalodons shed their teeth constantly and they replace them with new ones.
If we do a comparison between female and male megalodons then the female ones are comparatively larger than the male ones.
Great White Sharks, Mako Sharks, Megalodons, and Thresher Sharks come from a common lineage that can be traced back to the Cretaceous period.
Availability:-
They were mostly available everywhere except Poles and shallow waters [of course], If we talk about the Indian subcontinent then they were available near the Bay of Bengal side.
You can get an idea by looking at the following figure which describes its availability:

Food Web, Reproduction and Extinction:-
If we talk about the ranking of Megalodon in the food chain with the species at present then we can assume it at the top level, you can just imagine that there's pic available on the internet which shows megalodon teeth inside whale's bone. Well, some research says that Megalodon Sharks were able to produce force up to 18144 kg, you can imagine this force with the statement that "It is the Strongest Bite ever existed until now in entire Animal Kingdom". It can puncture an adult whale rib in 3 seconds.
Reproduction In Megalodons is similar to Modern-day Bull Shark, they protect their baby as well as their territory where they roam around, they make sure that their babies stay away from other predators.
Let's talk about their extinction story, Many scientists have one story and its concept around them to satisfy their need to accept Megalodon extinctions. They say that with such a large body, this giant needed a large diet and with time loss of prey and supernova that triggered climate conditions and biodiversity.

Internal Anatomy:-
Megalodon skeleton was reconstructed many times, you'll find one of them mentioned in Wikipedia
Well, Like most of the Shark, Megalodon's skeleton is made up of cartilage rather than solid bone and as a result, none of its specimens can be perfectly conserved.
The teeth right now don't actually represent the view of megalodon's original teeth, Case of the presence of large teeth, wider mouth and more strongly developed.
Prey:-
See, If you wanna talk about the real deal then no one can challenge this giant except, yeah there's an excerpt and that is for Livyatan [Sperm Whale].
End:-
Now, Its time to end this article, I hope you got to know so much about Megalodon and its history, We'll meet soon in the next blog, Until then stay safe Bye Bye.
